Beautiful Uluru in the Rain....

There is nothing more amazing than rain in the desert. And the best place to be in the rain is Uluru. A reasonable shower of rain this afternoon lured even the locals out to marvel at the beauty of Uluru in the rain. The waterfalls were not the strongest I have seen flowing here at The Rock, but there was certainly enough water flowing to make people stare in amazement. We took a drive around the wet and rather mystical looking Uluru, before taking a walk in the rain to Mutitjulu Waterhole (on the southern side of Uluru). The water had not yet reached the ground when we arrived at the waterhole. It was slowly cascading down from one pool to the next. We waited for over ten minutes before the water finally started falling into the nearly-empty waterhole of Mutitjulu. What a wonderful sight to see. The waterfall was hardly more than a quiet trickle, but it was enough for us to enjoy the sound of water flowing and splashing into the waterhole.
